AUDITION INFORMATION
Plano Civic Chorus is seeking experienced singers to audition for the Spring Semester of the 2024-25 season. Auditions will be held Saturday, January 4th. Read the audition for details below for audition procedures and to schedule an audition.

AUDITION DETAILS
Auditions will be held in the music wing at Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Rd in Plano. Entry is on the north side of the building facing Parker Rd. All singers must prepare and sing the audition piece, which is an excerpt from the Mozart Requiem: mm 34-48 from 1. Introitus. The music and accompaniment are linked below. The same accompaniment recording will be used in the audition. In addition, there will be a music theory test, vocalization, and sight-reading of music, rhythm, and text. Singers must be 18 years or older to be eligible for membership. NOTE: Dues for the Plano Civic Chorus are $90 for the second semester only, payable once you have been selected. Please send any questions to [email protected]. |
PLANO CIVIC CHORUS REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE OBLIGATIONS
PCC rehearses on Monday Evenings from 7-8:30pm in the choir room at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano. Rehearsals will begin in August, 2024 and will end mid-May, 2025. PERFORMANCE DATES 2024-25 season will include four (4) PCC concerts, one concert with the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, and another with the Plano Symphony Orchestra. All singers are expected to sing in all rehearsals and performances. Special circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis. PLANO CIVIC CHORUS CONCERTS Dress Rehearsals will be the Monday prior to the concert and the afternoon of the concert with guest musicians. All concerts will be at CUMC Plano unless otherwise noted. Plano Chamber Chorus will sing 2-4 pieces at each concert.
