Audition Requirements

PLANO CIVIC CHORUS AUDITION
Those interested in auditioning should prepare "Widmung" by Robert Franz.
​(PDF version available by clicking buttons in they gray box below.)
  • High voices (soprano / tenor) should sing the key of Ab Major
  • Low voices (alto / bass) should sing the key of F Major
  • German text is preferred, but English will be acceptable as well. 
  • The piece does not need to be memorized. 
In addition to the prepared solo there will be vocalization, sight-reading, and a basic theory test.

PLANO CIVIC CHORUS REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE OBLIGATIONS
PCC rehearses on Monday Evenings from 7-9:30pm in the choir room at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano. Rehearsals will begin Monday, January 9, 2023 and will end mid-May, 2023. 
 
PERFORMANCE DATES

​All singers are expected to sing in all rehearsals and performances. Special circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

**PLANO CHAMBER CHORUS AUDITION
(open to new and returning members)
 
Singers selected to be in Plano Chamber Chorus are also required to sing with Plano Civic Chorus.
  • You are required to sing Widmung in German.  
  • You must prepare and sing a solo of your choosing, such as an aria or art song.  An accompanist will be provided.
  • Vocalization and sight-reading 

**Recognizing the need for a non-professional chamber choir in the area, the Plano Chamber Chorus was formed in 2017 as an opportunity for highly experienced singers of the Plano Civic Chorus to perform a diverse repertoire of new and traditional music composed for the smaller ensemble.

At just $60.00 each, Season Subscriptions are our best deal! A Season Subscription comes with one ticket to each of PCC’s four concerts, plus one voucher that can be used to purchase a free guest ticket to any concert.
 
After your order is placed, please watch for an email from a PCC staff member, who will request additional information.  You will be asked for an attendee name for each subscription; however, tickets are transferable.

​Season Subscriptions will only be available for purchase online through October 1, 2021, after which they can be purchased at the door of the Beginnings concert on October 2nd or 3rd.

Ralph Stannard Recognized for
20 years as PCC Artistic Director

At the Plano Chamber Chorus "Into the Light" concert on November 7, 2020, Ralph Stannard was recognized for his twenty years of service as Artistic Director of Plano Civic Chorus. Appointed at the beginning of the the 2000-2001 season, Mr. Stannard has grown the chorus into a well-respected choral organization in North Texas. Known for his innovative concert programming, collaborations with local music groups, composers and artists, and desire to implement the great choral works of the masters, Mr. Stannard has helped Plano Civic Chorus bring about its mission to provide outstanding musical experiences for singers, and provide fine choral music to the community.
